POSITION: Telecommunications Surveyor
LOCATION: Newport, NY
SUMMARY: Our client, a premier telecom service provider in Central New York, is looking for a Telecommunications Surveyor to support their fiber-based network deployment. In this role, you will develop and maintain network mapping and data, ensuring effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. This role requires a strong knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, outside plant practices and procedures. Adequate training will be provided with experience being gained in the field. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards and following company and business unit directives and practices.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plan and design fiber-optic routes for residential and business customers.
- Conduct field visits and assist in estimating project costs using eLations software.
- Manage permitting processes with municipalities and other stakeholders.
- Assist with broadband deployment designs for various service types.
- Document system changes and procedures while analyzing and improving internal processes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop standards and specifications for OSP resources.
- Perform quality assurance checks on construction work and document findings.
- Assist with data gathering for network planning and market analysis.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors during project implementation.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge of industry best practices.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to read telecom records and understand infrastructure plans.
- Knowledge of industry standards and compliance regulations.
- Experience with GIS or CAD software is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Full Time, 40 hours per week, Onsite
- Company-provided laptop and cell phone.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 commensurate with skills and experience
