Job Summary: The Project Manager, Structured Cabling is responsible for generating, planning, directing, and coordinating the daily field operations, primarily through communication with Superintendent and Foremen. This role develops processes for completing current and potential projects, and monitors them to ensure they are finished on schedule and within budget. Key responsibilities include estimating project timelines, labor requirements, materials, budgets, and expenses for structured cabling and infrastructure projects. The Project Manager oversees projects from initiation to completion.
Job Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
Collaborate with Foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities for all jobs/projects.
Set project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company policy and contract specifications. Regularly confer with Field Supervisors and Foremen to address issues.
Lead and maintain a safe working environment.
Represent the company in project meetings and provide updates on project progress.
Work with the Contract Administrator to manage the financial aspects of contracts, protecting the company's interests while maintaining effective customer relationships.
Ensure Foremen and Field Supervisors have the necessary supplies and materials to complete each project.
Interpret and explain project plans and contract terms to staff and clients.
Ensure accuracy in time reporting.
Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project scope.
Determine factors affecting project cost and timelines.
Prepare material and cost estimates for products and services.
Create labor estimates for projects.
Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and request quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Required Skills & Qualifications: General:
Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders (Foremen, Field Supervisors, Clients, Subcontractors, etc.).
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience working from blueprints and specifications.
Willingness to travel as necessary.
At least 3 years of experience in estimating and project management.
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations.
Strong understanding of bid documents, blueprints, and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
