Your New Job
Job Summary:  The SVP of Commercial Solutions Group will be instrumental in driving Congruex commercial and go to market (GTM) strategy. The leader will partner with Sales and Operations with the overriding objective of driving profitable revenue growth (new customer/contract acquisition plus optimizing existing contracts/relationships). The role will involve leading a team responsible for developing and implementing go-to-market strategies, managing bid responses, estimating, overseeing commercial negotiations, and establishing effective pricing strategies. The team will work closely with other departments, including sales, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure alignment and effective execution of customer contracts and commercial initiatives.
The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of engineering and construction in the telecom industry and a proven track record of success in commercial operations. This individual should be a collaborative leader who can effectively drive results and build strong relationships within the organization.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • GTM & market development:
    • Partner with executive team and subject matter experts across the company to enhance/develop Congruex GTM strategy (informed by internal core capabilities and external research on TAM etc.)
    • Identify and pursue growth opportunities in key market segments, including national communications providers, data centers, FTTX overbuilders, government and municipal agencies
    • Conduct proactive competitive landscape and market analyses to identify trends and opportunities
  • Commercial Strategy and Negotiations:
  • Develop and implement the company's commercial strategy, aligning with corporate goals and market trends.
  • Lead negotiations for contracts, pricing, and financial terms, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Bid Management:
  • Define, oversee, and manage the bid response process, ensuring timely and effective submissions for all major customer opportunities.
  • Coordinating RFI/P/Q and grant application processes.
  • Financial and Commercial Analysis:
  • Assess commercial deal mechanics and develop pricing strategies based on market analysis, cost structure, and profitability targets/ROI.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with commercial activities, including market, credit, and operational risks (via effective contract negotiation).
  • Customer Marketing
  • Develop targeted customer marketing initiatives, including messaging and collateral through collaboration with operations and sales to define clear service level value propositions.
  • Operational Optimization:
  • Partner with operations leadership to understand cost structure, benchmark against competitors, and identify opportunities for cost structure improvement initiatives.
  • M&A Support:
    • Provide due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions.

Required Competencies:
  • Operational Experience: Construction, engineering, telecom/cable, datacenter
  • Financial/Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial metrics and commercial contracts
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and secure favorable terms
  • Data-Driven and Process Focused Approach: Enable data driven decision making across commercial processes with thought leadership. Experience in developing and implementing efficient operational processes.
  • Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team in a matrixed organization, and to lead and motive indirectly with key stakeholder teams.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred (MBA).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in customer facing senior leadership roles in engineering and construction industry (experience in Telecom and/or Data Center engineering and construction preferred)
  • Skills: Proven track record in developing, getting alignment and executing strategic plans, developing core capabilities in a cross functional organization, and negotiating complex deals. Strong analytical, data driven decision making and risk management skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
