Job Title: Project Controls Manager Department: Specialty Services Reports To: Vice President of Specialty Services Employment Status: Exempt, Salary
Job Summary: The Project Controls Manager works in conjunction with Vice President, Regional Directors, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators to pull and manage various financial and job reports, provide forecasting, support and implementation of workflow policies and processes, as well as document and project control. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for the oversite of Project Coordinators within Specialty Services.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Management, training, and oversite of Project Coordinators.
Support of Engineering and Construction throughout Specialty Engineering.
Pulling and managing multiple reports such as WIP (Work in Progress), Project, Job, and Employee.
Support of forecasting for each region, area, and discipline.
Ensuring and supporting accounting with invoicing responsibilities.
Project tracking for all Regions.
Client reporting for all Regions.
On-Boarding of New Employees for Division regarding project management/coordination.
Development and support of development of processes.
Support of implementing policies and procedures.
Project Management System (Sitetracker) and document control.
Bid process support and new client/bid process.
Engineering proposal drafting and preparation for Project Managers as needed.
Updates necessary tracking system(s) to ensure that project and/or program status is maintained with complete accuracy, including third party management systems.
Creates and distributes correspondence relevant to the Region, team, or project (internal).
Liaise with Corporate teams as necessary to identify and improve system issues and workflow.
Communicate issues to management prior to reaching critical status.
Provides additional administrative support as needed.
Meet or exceed target utilization expectation for role.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Subject to pre-employment drug test and MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) Report.
Knowledge of and relevant experience in fundamental principles, concepts, and techniques in project management, project cost accounting, project financial controls, contract administration and contract management.
Requires strong math and analytical skills.
Superior customer service. Dedication to providing customers “White Glove Service”.
Strong project tracking skills.
Utilities process savvy.
Good interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills needed to coordinate with utility and power companies and report status and results.
Critical thinking skills: make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
Ability to be flexible, take direction and feedback with ease, including changes to process, workflow, schedule, and priorities.
Experience performing data management in cost tracking database programs with complete data accuracy.
Handle large volume workload with a high frequency of repetition.
Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.
Ability to independently organize own work to meet established objectives, using discretion in performing duties.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or substitute relevant work experience (in Business, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) preferred.
8+ years relevant experience in project coordination, project management, project financial controls, contract management, contract administration, telecommunications permitting/municipal permitting.
Engineering consulting experience; telecom or civil industry experience; small-medium sized construction projects $150k-$2mil experience.
Experience working with local utility and power companies and obtaining permits for telecom projects.
Experience working on utility applications and supporting Outside Plant (OSP)/power projects.
Advanced computer skills using Sitetracker Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and ability to learn a variety of tracking and project management tools and software.
