Job Summary: Our operating unit provides construction telecom services, and we are looking for a Field Technician to join our team. The Field Technician is responsible for provides on-site end-user support, telecom installation, programming, maintenance, and repair to a wide variety of telecommunications systems, equipment, cabling, and other related system equipment at all locations within the assigned work region.
Job Responsibilities:
Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.
Repair or splice in new line as needed to complete the testing and certification of the project.
Install all passive and active devices, activate underground and aerial lines.
Test Coax-RF lines for balanced signal between points-continuity.
Responsible for coax splicing, troubleshooting and repair of the hybrid fiber coax network (HFC) including all its associated equipment in accordance with the company’s Engineering Standards.
Optimize new Nodes and troubleshoot/splice in node splits to reduce capacity.
Test all HFC network components using test equipment including but not limited to signal level meters, volt-ohm meters, TDR and adjust and repair accordingly
Troubleshoot and repair basic distribution problems associated with RF, AC, DC portions of the forward and reverse plant, work with standby power supplies in HFC network.
Learn how to safely utilize bucket trucks or climb utility poles to maintain or troubleshoot on poles per system design.
Close a project by completing production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, adjust and troubleshoot, as necessary.
Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer, public and compliance with all governmental orders.
Maybe required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
3-5 years’ experience in telecommunications / construction with related project management experience
