Job Summary
The Imports Intern oversees the delivery of incoming goods and ensures that they comply with customs regulations. S/He tracks and document shipments, advises clients, categorizes shipments by tariff coding system, and uses appropriate packaging to prepare items for shipment. This individual directs the logistics of transporting goods into Brazil and track the delivery of all cargo and processes all customs releases. The Import Trainee is also responsible for providing optimal customer services to all clients and maintaining status reports for all shipments.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the entire import process of chemical products for Wego Brazil and its clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with Wego’s overseas Logistics Department, our local Regional Product Managers, and final clients.
  • Provide shipments’ original documents to ensure proper customs clearance and monitor timely delivery of products to their destination.
  • Analyze all local expenses related to import of products, issue fiscal / debit notes, and coordinate with Accounting to process invoices.
  • Continuously track invoice payments and fund arrivals into Wego’s Bank accounts.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Distribution Coordinator to foster and facilitate operational efficiencies.
  • Prepare reports, keeping pertinent files and records in compliance with country requirements.
  • Perform and communicate updated market trends to Wego’s key services providers.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or studies on going in international business, trade, logistics, or industrial engineering
  • Effective bilingual communicator – English, Portuguese; and Spanish a BIG +Plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated approach; well organized.
  • Proven ability / experience in working remotely.
  • Excellent customer service skills with proven capacity to productively interact with peers and clients.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Brazilian Import process is a BIG Plus.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Window Office package (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
