Job Title: Warehouse Associate Department: Construction Reports To: Warehouse Manager Employment Status: Hourly (Non-exempt) Primary Location: Augusta, GA Pay Range: TBD We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees in the same or similar role.
Job Summary: The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, moving, loading, and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies needed for daily work. Receives material and tool orders. Maintains and organizes inventory in the yard and/or warehouse. Performs other duties as required.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Receives materials and tools, verifying order contents for accuracy.
Tracks inventory on all materials and tools in the warehouse and/or yard (manually and in the computer).
Moves, loads, and unloads equipment, materials, and supplies needed for daily work, using a forklift when required.
Keeps the warehouse and/or yard clean and organized.
Maintains and repairs building and yard equipment, arranging for repairs when needed.
Clean up any oil spills, drips, and any slipping hazards immediately.
Collaborates with the warehouse personnel to help ensure smooth operations.
Escalates issues when necessary.
Performs other duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications: General
Ability to operate a forklift safely.
Ability to do detailed and accurate work, especially with numbers.
Ability to use computer equipment and software: (Computer Ease, Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to use office equipment: copiers, calculators, phone system, fax, postage meter, etc.
Must possess excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
Ability to effectively read and interpret emails, catalogs, reports, receipts, invoices, purchase orders, etc.
Ability to effectively talk to employees, vendors, supervisors, customers, manufacturers, etc.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions when buying or receiving materials/parts/tools.
Must be a self-starter and internally motivated to achieve department and personal objectives.
Must be a team player.
Daily attendance and punctuality is required for this position. The work may require overtime hours to be worked to achieve desired results.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able and willing to work indoors and outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
Must be able to stand, walk, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear
