Your New Job

Job Summary:
Our operating unit provides full-service construction, repair and emergency services related to Cable TV, Telephone, Fiber-Optic communications, and Power construction including underground trenching, plowing, missile, and directional boring and aerial construction. And we are looking for a Supervisor to join our team.

The Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating construction activities with in-house employees and subcontractors. Accept authority, responsibility, and accountability for all production activities of his department. Schedule the activities for the field crew daily to ensure maximum utilization. Provide direction and control of the field activities of the department to achieve profit and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and communicate on a regular basis with the operations Manager
  • Execute all Work Orders to ensure timely completion while minimizing labor and equipment costs. Follow-up on all partially completed Work Orders that are awaiting parts/materials for completion
  • Review all work order requirements and communicate and coordinate information with the field crews
  • Ensure that the trucks, equipment, and tools are maintained to the standards established by the Company.
  • Make it clear to all personnel that customer satisfaction, through service and work quality, is the priority each employee is to support.
  • Create and maintain a work environment that shows concern for employees’ property assets and promotes the growth of each employee to the level of their capability.
  • Perform all other as may be assigned by the Operations Manager from time to time
  • Performing quality inspections of the placement of aerial, buried and underground fiber optic and coaxial cable, conduit, grounding and bonding inspections, hand hole, pedestal and aerial terminal placement, documentation, and ensuring the adherence to standards and established procedures. Also, scheduling labor is a major part of this position.

  • Experience and understanding of telecommunications outside plant construction techniques
  • Knowledge of buried, aerial and UG cable facilities
  • Knowledge of Cable Splicing, Cable Maintenance, OSP Fiber/Coaxial
  • Design or Construction experience with OSP including Fiber To the Premise (FTTP) deployments. Experience should include aerial and underground cable systems, splicing, testing, termination, and cable placement.
  • Ability to Develop and provide reports on conditions found, take photos, document discrepancies and recommended fix actions where applicable
  • Ability to verify work was completed per applicable guidelines and standards
  • Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards
  • Knowledge of utility locating methods and experience using cable locating equipment
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry
