Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Large Programs in the Large Programs division of Congruex is a high-level leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing multiple large-scale telecom infrastructure projects from a strategic and operational standpoint. This role involves directing the overall direction of large projects, ensuring their successful execution, managing teams, and working with key stakeholders to meet business and client objectives. Key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic Oversight of Large Programs:- Program Leadership: The Senior Director is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of large, complex telecom projects, such as network expansions, fiber optic installations, data centers, or tower construction.
- Aligning with Business Goals: They ensure that the large programs align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives, driving the company’s growth, profitability, and long-term success.
- Setting Long-Term Vision: They contribute to long-term strategic planning for the company, identifying new opportunities in telecom infrastructure and setting the vision for future program development.
2. Project and Program Management:
- Portfolio Management: They manage multiple large programs simultaneously, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Resource Allocation: They allocate resources across programs, ensuring that project teams have the necessary personnel, equipment, and materials to meet deadlines and performance targets.
- Risk Management: They oversee the identification of program risks (technical, financial, operational) and develop strategies to mitigate those risks, ensuring successful project delivery without significant disruptions.
3. Financial Management and Budget Oversight:
- Budget Approval and Monitoring: They work closely with finance teams to approve and monitor budgets for each program, ensuring that financial objectives are met and that any cost overruns are addressed promptly.
- Revenue and Profitability Tracking: The Senior Director ensures that each program is not only executed efficiently but is also financially profitable, tracking revenue and ensuring the program contributes positively to the company’s bottom line.
- Cost Control: They implement cost management strategies across programs to maintain profitability while ensuring quality and safety.
4. Stakeholder and Client Management:
- Client Engagement: They maintain high-level relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring the company meets or exceeds client expectations and project specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication: They serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders (internal and external), communicating project progress, challenges, and successes, and ensuring that expectations are aligned throughout the program lifecycle.
- Contract Negotiation: They may oversee or negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring favorable terms for the company while meeting client needs.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Leading Senior Management Teams: The Senior Director oversees a team of senior project managers, engineers, and other leaders across multiple programs. They provide mentorship and guidance to these leaders, helping them address challenges and improve program execution.
- Talent Development: They focus on building and maintaining strong, high-performing teams by fostering talent, identifying skill gaps, and ensuring team members receive the appropriate training and professional development.
- Performance Management: They set performance standards for the team and conduct regular evaluations to ensure that project leaders and teams meet goals and deliver results.
6. Operational Excellence:
- Process Optimization: They focus on continuously improving operational processes related to large programs, streamlining workflows, improving efficiency, and reducing waste.
- Implementation of Best Practices: The Senior Director ensures that best practices, standards, and protocols are implemented across all large programs, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Quality Control: They enforce strict quality control measures and ensure that each program complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
7. Risk and Compliance Management:
- Regulatory Compliance: They ensure that all programs comply with telecom regulations, zoning laws, environmental standards, and safety codes.
- Issue Resolution: If problems arise - such as regulatory issues, technical challenges, or conflicts with stakeholders - they step in to resolve them quickly and effectively to avoid delays or disruptions to the program.
8. Reporting and Performance Tracking:
- Executive Reporting: The Senior Director regularly provides senior leadership reports on the status of large programs, highlighting key achievements, risks, financials, and any adjustments required.
- Program KPIs: They monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each program, such as project timelines, cost performance, safety metrics, and client satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: They use data-driven insights to refine future projects, ensuring that the company continues to learn and improve its approach to large telecom programs.
9. Innovation and Technology Adoption:
- Leveraging New Technologies: The Senior Director looks for opportunities to integrate new technologies or innovative practices into the program delivery process, whether through advanced telecom equipment, project management software, or construction techniques.
- Driving Digital Transformation: They may also lead initiatives to adopt digital tools, automation, or AI solutions to improve efficiency and reduce the time it takes to complete projects.
10. External and Internal Representation:
- Industry Representation: As a senior leader, the Senior Director may represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and client meetings, ensuring the company’s leadership and reputation are well established in the telecom industry.
- Public Relations: They may also be involved in managing relationships with the public, regulators, and the media regarding large programs, ensuring a positive public image for the company.
