We will determine salary based on skills and experience in relation to the function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees in the same or similar role.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Underground Utility Locator to join our growing team across the Midwest. Our Locators are responsible, self-starters who enjoy working outdoors. Locators drive company vehicles to job sites and use digital utility maps, along with specialized equipment, to find underground cables, pipes, and other utilities to prevent damages and ensure safety within the excavation, landscaping, and construction process. We are looking for experienced individuals who are comfortable working independently, detail-oriented, committed to safety, and take pride in their work. 

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
•Utilizes the provided mapping tools and other location information, along with locating equipment, to locate underground utilities including, but not limited to electric and gas utilities, telephone, and other communication lines
​​​​​​•Indicates utility locations through the utilization of paint and flags
•Represent Congruex in a positive and professional manner at all times
•Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use
•Perform duties in standard and high-risk areas
•Safely and successfully perform duties all year round
•Perform physical tasks required to successfully complete day-to-day operations
•Travel overnight to various sites as requested
•Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General
•Valid Driver’s License (unrestricted) and acceptable driving record
•Pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR
•Basic computer skills
•At least 2 years of recent experience in underground utility locating
•Ability to operate all equipment safely and productively
•Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with the crew, leadership, and clients
•Function effectively as an integral part of a team
•Ability to perform all work outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions

Physical Demands and Work Environment
•Must be able and willing to work outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
•Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
•Must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery
•Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
•Routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
•Must be able to stand, walk, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
•Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear

Desired Qualifications:
•CDL preferred, or willing to obtain one

A Locator I or II title differentiation lies in the experience and/or skill level of the individual.

Requires minimal supervision to perform all Utility Locator duties and responsibilities.

Possesses and maintains all required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations.

Possesses the necessary KSAs to perform all essential duties and responsibilities for Utility Locators.

Requires no supervision to perform all Utility Locator duties and responsibilities.

Possesses and maintains all required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations.

Proven mastery of all Utility Locator duties and responsibilities.

Possesses the ability to train Utility Locator I in essential duties and responsibilities.

Possesses and maintains additional OSHA 30 certification.

Should be cross trained in another field position (ex. Lineman or Splicer).
