@Orchard is looking to engage a Senior Sales Engineer and Solutions Architect, with exceptional consultative skills and experience in 5G Communications, Edge Computing, and SAT backhaul. This role will lead the pre and post-sales support of a client engineering easy-to-operate, hard-to-destroy technology that delivers unshakable security and performance for critical and enterprise operations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer & Solutions Architect who thrives at the intersection of complex hardware, cutting-edge software, and mission-driven sales. This is not a "behind-the-scenes" role. You will be the technical face of SEMPRE, working alongside the business development teams to show customers the “art of the possible.” You will bridge the gap between high-level vision and technical execution—designing the connectivity diagrams, overcoming technical objections, and shaping the future of edge processing and 5G resiliency.

Areas of Focus

  • Architect the Solution: Design and assemble sophisticated network diagrams and system architectures integrating 5G, edge processing, and SAT backhaul.
  • Partner with Sales: Act as the technical lead on active opportunities, sharpening value propositions and structuring "value stories" that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive the Roadmap: Be the "voice of the field." Bring structured feedback from customers back to the engineering teams to influence product prioritization and future roadmaps.
  • Lead the Proposal: Take ownership of technical responses for RFPs and develop high-impact solution write-ups and presentations.
  • Identify Risk: Proactively identify technical hurdles before they occur, developing mitigation strategies to ensure seamless deployment and customer trust.
  • Expand Verticals: Collaborate with Business Development to explore and validate new market verticals for our hardened infrastructure.

Your background will include.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experienced Strategist: You have a proven track record as a Solutions Architect or Pre-Sales Engineer, ideally coming from a Cloud Service Provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) or a major Telecommunications firm (Ericsson, Ciena, Cisco).
  • Master Communicator: You possess a superior consultative skillset, able to gain the trust of high-level stakeholders through technical leadership and business acumen.
  • Methodical & Adaptable: You are highly organized and rigorous with details, yet comfortable navigating the uncertainty and rapid pace of a high-growth technology environment.
  • Customer-Forward: You are energized by direct customer engagement and have a passion for solving the most difficult connectivity challenges facing our nation today.

Compensation

This role will be compensated through a base salary and incentives based on your performance as an individual and the company. The base salary will be determined by an assessment of the experience and qualifications of each individual and will be within a range of $130K to $175K.
