Contractor - Contract Manager
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to support our client's procurement needs. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in contract terms and conditions, demonstrate strong influencing skills, and have experience with IT contracting including services, hardware/software, SaaS, and cloud solutions. Knowledge of AI technologies is a plus. This role focuses on achieving cost savings while aligning with company objectives, mission, and vision.
Responsibilities:
- Support our client's business objectives by negotiating, executing, and managing commercial contracts for the acquisition of goods and services
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts
- Lead negotiations on contract modifications with stakeholder input
- Provide assistance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies
- Ensure the level of effort and attention to detail is commensurate with the complexity, value, and risk associated with the acquisition
- Establish acquisition strategies including contract type, milestones, and contractible requirements
- Coordinate review of contracts or purchase agreements with Procurement Management and Office of General Counsel, as required
- Analyze proposals in conjunction with the Business Unit, performing cost or price analysis to determine reasonableness
- Develop negotiation objectives and lead pricing discussions, collaborating with General Counsel and subject matter experts as appropriate
- Review key contract terms, conditions, requirements, deliverables, and timelines with Business Units and vendors prior to execution
- Interpret contract provisions and provide appropriate guidance to Business Units
- Close out contracts or issue termination notices and review settlement proposals
- Present alternatives and recommendations to solve unique and complex problems
- Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication
- Anticipate issues and identify solutions proactively
Qualifications/Education:
- Experience in contract law, terms, and conditions
- Experience in acquisition planning, strategy development, negotiations, contract management and administration, pricing analysis, and acquisition related requirements
- Significant knowledge of commercial and business practices to develop, execute and manage contracts
- Proven expertise evaluating and mitigating risk in contracts
- Significant experience in written bid/proposal preparation
- Strong initiative and good judgment in decision-making
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of cost containment strategies
- Ability to multitask and work effectively, both independently and in a team environment
- Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact tactfully and effectively in challenging situations
- Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Contract Management, Information Technology, or related field
