The Business Analyst Intern will support the Justice Management Team by assisting with the analysis of business processes, systems, and data to help improve organizational efficiency and project outcomes. This internship provides hands-on experience working with business users and technical teams, learning how requirements are gathered, documented, and translated into technical solutions. The intern will collaborate closely with experienced analysts and project managers while developing foundational skills in business analysis, communication, and problem-solving. The role requires a professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business and system requirements
  • Support system analysis, troubleshooting, and data validation activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, finance, IT, compliance) to support ongoing projects
  • Help prepare documentation, reports, timelines, and basic visualizations for project tracking and communication
  • Participate in meetings to understand stakeholder needs and project objectives
  • Assist with testing, data sampling, and verification of system updates or enhancements
  • Conduct research on system issues, industry trends, and best practices
  • Support senior Business Analysts and Project Managers in ensuring project deliverables align with business needs
  • Validate drafted requirements with stakeholders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

FINAL PRESENTATION REQUIREMENT

To wrap up your internship experience at MCP, you’ll have the opportunity to create a final presentation highlighting one of the major projects you worked on. This is your chance to showcase what you learned, your role on the project, the contributions you made, challenges you tackled, and the impact your work had. The presentation is designed to highlight your technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and how your efforts helped drive the project’s success.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of business processes and information systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Visio a plus)
  • Exposure to SQL, data analysis, or reporting tools is a plus but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and apply business analysis best practices
