ABOUT THE POSITION

Direct responsibility for all aspects of the Company's external reporting process with the SEC and other governmental bodies, including but not limited to Forms 10K, 10Q, 8K (including earnings releases) and 11K filings. This role works closely with other stakeholders and functions within the Company as well as third-party specialists to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and related disclosures.

 

Key Deliverables

·       SEC Reporting - responsible for all external filings including initial preparation, tie-out and validation procedures for all supporting schedules

·       XBRL management including tie-out procedures

·       Technical accounting research/documentation for benchmarking and/or disclosure changes impacting the business

·       Support calculation of stock compensation expense, journal entries and reconciliation

·       Prepare calculation of earnings per share

·       Completion of government surveys, which includes collection and analysis of economic and geographic data, as applicable.

 

Key Activities & Responsibilities

·       Responsible for the Company's periodic external SEC filings, including but not limited to the preparation and filing in accordance with SEC requirements and other regulatory and governmental filing requirements on a recurring basis (Forms 10K, 10Q, 8K, 11K or others as required by business needs).

·       Solicit, analyze and maintain supporting documentation for disclosures included in external reporting documents.

·       Perform tie-out validation procedures and maintain supporting documentation on other externally released financial information including, but not limited to, annual proxy, investor presentations, earnings releases, etc.

·       Perform XBRL tagging procedures, facilitate review of tag selections and tie-out all filings to support the appropriate tagging application as well as monitor and update tags for taxonomy updates.

·       Collect, analyze, prepare and submit governmental survey information on an ad hoc basis.

·       Assist in the facilitation of the external audit process.

·       Prepare quarterly/annual calculations of basic and diluted earnings per share and budget/forecast weighted average share projections.

·       Prepare schedules and other documentation in accordance with the Company's internal controls, quarterly financial close process, disclosure checklist and the quarterly and annual SEC reporting calendar.

·       Provide assistance/support to other areas within the accounting/finance group and other ad hoc project work, as requested.

 

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

·       CPA required

·       Public Accounting experience: preferably at a Big 4 Public Accounting firm (mix of public and industry experience preferred)

·       Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail

·       Inquisitive mind with ability to learn, build knowledge, ask questions, challenge the status quo and be accountable for their own work

·       Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail with ability to identify issues and propose solutions to complex or non-standard situations

·       Ability to effectively work with and create effective partnerships with employees at all levels within the Company

Travel Requirements

Limited travel to Company headquarters (Chattanooga) approximately 9 weeks per year.

 

NOTE: This position responsible for certain internal control responsibilities. These internal control responsibilities are verbally communicated to the incumbent and periodic feedback is provided as it relates to the performance of these internal control responsibilities.
