Your Commitment (Per Diem Level III)
- Three (3) 12‑hour shifts per week
- Two weekend shifts per month (24 hrs/month)
- Every other major holiday (New Year’s, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- Participation in hard‑to‑fill holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- Not benefits‑eligible; no PTO accrual during participation
- Eligible for leave under the DC Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act (ASSLA)
What You’ll Do
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for ED patients
- Build rapport with patients and families while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Document care and outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively to support continuity of care
- Delegate tasks to non‑licensed personnel as appropriate
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and unit committees
- Follow infection control protocols and safe medication practices
- Engage in ongoing education and professional development
- Perform duties necessary to support safe, effective patient care
What You Bring
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum three (3) years of Emergency Department bedside RN experience
- Current RN license in the District of Columbia
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA required); department‑specific certifications as needed
- National specialty certification highly desirable
