Your New Job 

Job Summary:

The Concrete Manager oversees daily concrete operations including batching, production quality, inventory management, and crew supervision. This role ensures safe and efficient manufacturing of concrete products, compliance with mix specifications, proper equipment maintenance, and timely delivery coordination with internal and external customers. The manager is responsible for standing up operations, performance, production planning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of operational workflows.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Supervise, schedule, and support staff including operators, loaders, technicians, and drivers.
  • Oversee operations to ensure mix accuracy, product quality, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Manage raw material inventory (cement, aggregates, admixtures, water systems) and coordinate deliveries to prevent shortages or production delays.
  • Monitor production output, cycle times, capacity, and equipment performance.
  • Ensure proper calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair of plant equipment including mixers, silos, and batch controls.
  • Implement and enforce safety programs and site housekeeping standards.
  • Coordinate dispatch and truck routing to meet delivery time requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, delivery tickets, quality control data, and maintenance records.
  • Work with QC teams to troubleshoot mix issues and resolve customer concerns.
  • Identify process improvements to optimize uptime, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in concrete production, batch plant operations, or heavy construction operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments with frequently shifting priorities.
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance (MSHA/OSHA).

Technical

  • Hands-on experience with concrete batching systems (Command Alkon, Jonel, or similar).
  • Understanding of concrete mix designs, slump tests, moisture control, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations (loaders, conveyors, trucks).
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, mix specifications, and production schedules.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior management or supervisory experience in a concrete or materials facility.
  • Experience working with DOT/municipal specifications.
  • CDL or ability to obtain one preferred.
