Technology Transformation Engineer
About This Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Technology Transformation Engineer to support Developer Experience (DevEx) and AI-enablement initiatives. Our mission is to accelerate our software engineers, reduce cognitive load, and create outstanding developer experience. As the lead Technology Transformation Engineer, you will play a key role in creating and executing the enterprise change plan for the DevEx and AI-enablement strategy.
This is not a traditional engineering role. It's a chance to shape our SDLC processes across high-code and low-code platforms. This is a hands-on, senior-level individual contributor role where you will balance strategic vision with tactical execution. You'll partner closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and other platform engineers to modernize, streamline, and enhance every part of the development lifecycle—from onboarding to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and product teams to understand workflows, identify pain points, opportunities for improvement, and define technical requirements
- Lead technical solution development for complex business challenges, from concept through deployment
- Create and maintain the yearly roadmap and communicate the plan to all stakeholders through various forums such as lunch and learns, roadshows, virtual walk-throughs, demo sessions, and infographic posters
- Create and maintain executive leadership status reports that map to the roadmap
- Improve and build upon existing production systems, guiding the team through operationally engrained workflows and enhancements
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members, fostering best practices in design and development
- Ensure scalability and sustainability of solutions by working with IT and enterprise technology teams to move from prototypes to production
- Support user adoption through clear documentation, SharePoint sites, training, and communication
- Clearly articulate how DevEx and AI-SDLC solutions solve end-user problems and add value
- Pilot and test new DevEx and AI-enabled features prior to release to engineering teams
- Create documentation, demos, and notifications to announce new DevEx and AI features
- Develop innovative approaches to communicate the DevEx and AI roadmap plans
- Build and maintain demos to support adoption of new capabilities
- Quantify the ROI associated with optimizing SDLC workflows
- Conduct surveys to assess software engineer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, or Physics
- 3+ years of professional experience solving complex, real-world problems in a customer-facing or business-facing environment using technology and data-driven approaches
- Demonstrated ability to lead development of end-to-end software products—from concept through design, deployment, and scaling
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript/JavaScript and familiarity with modern frameworks and development tools
- Proven track record of engaging directly with business stakeholders and translating complex requirements into actionable solutions
- Excellent communication skills; able to bridge technical and non-technical discussions effectively
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and prioritizing for maximum business impact
- Experience with AI-powered development tooling such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI API integrations, or AI-assisted testing frameworks
- Solid understanding of software delivery metrics (DORA, SPACE framework) and how to improve them
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-team engineering organizations where developer enablement was a core focus
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects in transformation, analytics, or operations technology
- Prior work integrating observability, monitoring, and logging into developer-facing systems
- Strong understanding of system design principles, security, and performance optimization
- Prior experience in consulting, forward deployed, or hybrid engineering/business roles
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM)
