Overview

To plan, manage, and execute all aspects of life-cycle projects from inception through implementation. To develop project plans and deliver solutions on schedule and within budget in support of service innovations and organizational and process changes/enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation
  • Define, develop, and execute project plans, including scope definition, expectations, activities, cost estimates, and schedules
  • Work with business groups to determine and understand business requirements
  • Manage projects from concept through planning, analysis, design, testing, implementation, and transition phases
  • Develop clear and concise "big picture" alignment of projects within organizational goals
  • Direct and lead project teams by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and training
  • Manage project budgets, including risk assessment and impact analysis of changes to project plans
  • Identify and minimize project risks or constraints that would impact project deliverables
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve cross-organizational areas of concern that may impede or impact other projects or initiatives
  • Maintain and archive project documentation
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with client expectations
  • Set, manage, and communicate client expectations for the project
  • Oversee project progress to ensure project documentation and schedules comply with previously agreed requirements and standards
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues associated with projects, ensuring deliverables conform to established quality standards and schedules
  • Monitor and control risks, ensuring timelines are met and project goals are attained
  • Facilitate project team and client meetings for resolution of project issues
  • Provide project status reports to management
  • Ensure project success by working closely with Procurement regarding vendor contracts
  • Work closely with Procurement to clearly define and understand contracts, including language, scope, pre- and post-award requirements, contract closure, basic legal aspects, and risk management
  • Manage contract quality assurance, including contract administration and execution
  • Manage contract budgets, cost control mechanisms, and change control
  • Serve as primary point of contact for project management and related issues
  • Secure resources and ensure optimum utilization to meet budgetary requirements
  • Allocate project team assignments to ensure accountability, establish team environment, manage personnel changes, and execute training plans
  • Manage, execute, and communicate project plans, changes, direction, approach, and priorities based on changing business requirements, circumstances, new information, and budget considerations to stakeholders
  • Establish team objectives and assignments, review work products, and provide timely feedback to staff regarding performance; may provide input to team members' performance appraisals
  • Promote team building and skills development of project team members
  • Manage multiple, large, and highly complex projects simultaneously
  • Participate in developing, modifying, and executing department policies, standards, and processes
  • Provide guidance on issues having department and organization-wide impact
  • Work on complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and competing priorities
  • Solve highly technical and complex problems
  • Negotiate with and influence division and department management to facilitate project resolution within timelines and budget constraints
  • Manage relationships with vendors, participate in contract negotiations, and oversee contract quality assurance, budget, and cost mechanisms
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive project management experience overseeing multiple, large, and complex projects
  • Advanced knowledge of project lifecycles, project management methodologies, and business requirements analysis
  • Expertise developing and managing relationships across business units and the organization
  • Extensive experience leading, guiding, and mentoring others in a constantly changing and challenging environment
  • Strong understanding of contracts and their impact on projects
  • Proficiency with personal computers and related software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and project management applications)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated skill directing and controlling project activities across broad functional areas
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • PMP Certification or commensurate experience managing corporate-wide projects
  • Advanced degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, or related field.
