Guest Services Specialist

Full-Time  |  Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM

Role Summary

As a Guest Services Specialist at Howard University Hospital, you are the first impression of our organization. You will welcome patients, visitors, vendors, and staff; provide accurate information; and ensure individuals are directed safely and efficiently to their destinations. This role supports a welcoming, organized, and patient-centered hospital environment.

What You’ll Do

• Greet all individuals entering the facility; determine the nature and purpose of the visit.
• Direct or escort patients, visitors, vendors, and staff to appropriate destinations.
• Provide accurate information about department locations, clinics, and services offered within the organization.
• Respond to inquiries; analyze information to provide answers or refer to the appropriate department for assistance.
• Support safety protocols (including PPE requirements, as applicable).
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

• Three (3) years of secretarial, administrative assistant, or customer service experience
• Healthcare setting experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Working knowledge of hospital departments and service areas
• Sound judgment and problem-solving ability
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Pay + Schedule

• Pay Range: $17.00 – $27.20 per hour
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Union: Local 2094
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
