Job Summary
The role is responsible for executing strategic sourcing initiatives in alignment with the directives of the Sourcing Manager and overall sourcing leadership. This includes implementing sourcing strategies, managing suppliers, and performing transactional procurement activities to meet organizational objectives related to service, quality, innovation, and cost efficiency. The position also plays a key role in supply chain integration to achieve the lowest total delivered cost.
The role coordinates the assigned chemical portfolio with the objective to:
- Independently develop sourcing strategies aligned with business and commercial priorities, supporting market competitiveness, innovation needs, and service flexibility.
- Implement and adjust strategies in response to evolving business conditions and market factors.
- Analyze raw materials and cost drivers to support effective negotiation and decision-making.
- Identify and lead cost reduction initiatives through innovation, waste elimination, and data-driven negotiations.
- Apply advanced costing and negotiation techniques to deliver optimal system-wide cost.
- Utilize business systems and software tools to produce sound recommendations and support decision-making.
Additionally, the position is responsible for participating in continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers in support of organizational goals, including total cost of ownership (TCO) savings, working capital improvement, service performance, quality, innovation, and process optimization. The role also establishes and tracks relevant KPIs to measure progress and performance.
Responsibilities
· Strategic Sourcing
o Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver competitive advantages for the organization.
o Ensure achievement of defined KPIs and deliverables supporting cost-saving initiatives.
o Build robust cost models for all purchased products.
o Drive cost-saving projects and ensure alignment with budget requirements.
o Support risk management strategies, including diversification of the supply base (e.g., China+1).
o Conduct market assessments to identify business opportunities within the chemical sector.
o Support initiatives to improve payment terms and contribute to company growth objectives.
o Participate in new product innovation processes.
o Identify new product, supplier, or client opportunities to support top-line growth.
· Supplier Management
o Manage a portfolio of regional suppliers and maintain strong professional relationships.
o Ensure supplier alignment with company needs and performance expectations.
o Understand suppliers’ business dynamics, strengths, weaknesses, and market factors to support effective negotiations.
o Assess supplier capabilities and ensure suitability within the company’s supply network.
o Monitor supplier performance through KPI scorecards, conducting quarterly reviews and implementing corrective actions when needed.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Sales, Finance, Business Development/Innovation, Quality, and Supply Chain to execute sourcing strategies and support organizational growth.
· Procurement-to-Pay (P2P) Operations
o Oversee and provide support for end-to-end P2P operations as required.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of sourcing experience managing at least $10M in annual spend independently.
- Strong foundational procurement skills including market analysis, international sourcing, contract management, supplier selection, negotiation, performance management, and strategic sourcing.
- Proven negotiation and cost-analysis capabilities.
- Experience in business development and identifying new opportunity areas.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
- Strong market and business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset, and high level of initiative.
- Experience working within diverse cultures in Southeast Asia is an advantage.
- 2+ years sourcing experience for Food and Nutrition additives is preferred.
