ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sales Development Manager drives early-stage growth by conducting market research, developing go to market strategies, and targeting strategic accounts as well as identifying acquisition targets. This role drives lead-generation efforts, builds criteria for ideal customer and company profiles, and supports long term planning through a structured three-to-five-year business plan. The manager engages directly with prospects through site visits, trade shows, and presentations, while preparing quotes, creating marketing literature, and supporting campaigns to strengthen pipeline development and market expansion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive insights
- Develop and execute go to market strategies for Capital, Parts, and Service.
- Identify, prioritize, and manage strategic accounts
- Set and drive acquisition targets for new markets
- Perform site visits to assess customer needs and strengthen relationships
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and customer presentations
- Create marketing literature and support marketing campaigns
- Attend trade shows and industry events for lead generation and brand visibility
- Develop criteria for ideal customer profiles and company qualification
- Drive lead generation activities across target segments
- Build a three-to-five-year business plan to support long term growth
- Territory Sales Team Development and Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in sales development, sales, or operations within the heavy equipment and parts industry.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment and parts distribution, inventory management, and market dynamics.
- Proven experience in relationship management, sales growth, and dealer network expansion.
- Analytical skills with experience in performance analysis and targeted improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to travel frequently to manage and support the market network.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
· Collaborate with Production and Engineering leadership to review sales forecast and production plans to ensure timely build and delivery.
· Work with product leads to review product development roadmaps and align priorities with customer requirements and emerging opportunities.
· Regularly travels to customer sites to enhance our position to develop key relationships.
· Aid in contract negotiations with technical advisement when needed.
· Work closely with the product marketing team to review specific marketing materials and campaigns.
· Assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws
