Job Summary:
The Vice President, Engineering will partner with the executive staff to provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure Congruex has the proper operational controls, administrative, and reporting procedures and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The VP will work closely with the executive staff to establish and lead the strategic operational plan and ensure the company continues to provide exceptional services to customers. The VP will be tasked with managing multiple departments, staff and projects within the company. Maintain extensive knowledge of the industry, finances and employee output while understanding and striving to meet the company’s strategic goals, mission, values and beliefs. As a partnering principal motivator of change, the VP should be a dynamic leader who is energetic and passionate.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee departments and operations within your division.
- Establish budgets for multiple projects, including monitoring and controlling costs.
- Guide, direct, and evaluate the work of management, team leaders and team members.
- Create and implement a strategic plan and execute against overall company goal.
- Tackle unforeseen issues and troubleshooting/ problem solving.
- Represent the company for external and internal events, strengthening brand presence and stakeholder relationships.
- Foster a culture of client satisfaction within all operational teams.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and attend industry events to stay abreast of new initiatives and ways to stay ahead.
- Identify, train, and develop leaders within the company, setting them on a path for management.
- Track and manage deadlines for business projects.
- Maintain timely communication through email and voicemail; ensure responsiveness to internal and external inquiries.
- Review data from each department to determine whether departments meet goals or quotas.
- Interact with company employees and talk with department directors about changes to current business operations. Provides leadership, supports, motivates, directs, and retains staff. Remains visible to the team at all times.
- Manage multiple large outsourcing operations.
- Responsible for meeting financial targets (KPI’s: operating income, COGS, revenue, margin, growth).
- Ensure measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes; provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the Company.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
- Meet with other executive staff to make presentations on business initiatives and participate in strategic planning.
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance of the company and its staff in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
- Work closely with People Services to implement and refine company policies/procedures.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
- Provide regular reports and analysis of financial, operational, team performance and industry trend metrics to the executive team.
- Negotiate or approve contracts or agreements with suppliers, distributors, federal or state agencies, or other organizational entities.
- Review reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or to suggest changes.
- Appoint department heads or managers and assign or delegate responsibilities to them.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
- Accomplish staff results by motivating and leading a high performance management team: communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and measuring job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees.
- Maintain a safe, engaging, creative, and professionally rewarding work environment; provides personal growth opportunities for staff.
- Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the Company.
- Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions among departments.
- Implement corrective action plans to solve organizational or departmental problems.
- Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems, or other administrative control processes.
- Hold monthly or quarterly one on one meetings with team to establish and review process of goals and objectives (including continuous training) and hold accountable.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all problems that arise within the department.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards and safety rules.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support organizational success.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines or to fulfill travel obligations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment and exercise sound judgement and problem solving.
- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in order to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, both personally and delegated through staff.
- Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to proficiently use computer software programs and related computer applications, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other industry-specific technology tools used within the organization.
- Willingness to learn additional software applications.
Education and Experience
- MBA or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in engineering, telecom or business administration is preferred
- 10+ years of job-related experience
- Equivalent combination of education/job experience
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
- Ability to sit continuously for over 2/3 of normal work shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch on a regular basis.
- Ability to talk and to hear continuously.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 2/3 of the normal work shift.
- Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
- Employees work in an office environment. Noise levels are moderate (such as computers and printers) and temperature conditions are usually controlled.
