Scrum Master
Overview
The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner to prioritize and lead delivery of the initiative's capabilities by removing impediments, facilitating team meetings and events, and fostering an environment for high performance. You will manage continuous workflow, advocate for lean and agile practices, and coach your team on Scrum methodologies. This role offers the opportunity to participate on increasingly complex projects with moderate supervision and latitude for independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership behaviors and help the team embrace Agile core values, principles, and practices
- Support Scrum team rules, eliminate impediments, and lead relentless improvement efforts for heightened efficiency
- Ensure technology and service delivery roadmaps support the solution strategy and meet the needs of solutions being delivered
- Facilitate team progress toward goals using Program Increment (PI) Objectives as Iteration Goals
- Ensure goals, scope, and product backlog items are understood and can be fulfilled by team members
- Collaborate with Product Owner, customers, and developers to identify and clarify scope of problems and business/systems requirements
- Support continuous improvement in communications and relationships with other delivery teams
- Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) meetings to ensure awareness of engagement opportunities and program effectiveness
- Challenge development norms to improve performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
- Support software development teams in applying the Scrum framework
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Basic functional and technical expertise in at least one analytics or business intelligence application or product
- Significant project management experience with strong fundamentals in advanced analytics, data integration, and visualization
- Experience with agile reporting tools such as Rally, Jira, and Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of software development and system administration
- Experience in resource allocation and management
- Experience leading, guiding, and coaching professional staff
- Experience leading agile development teams and facilitating team meetings in an Agile environment
- Working knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Agile principles
- Proficiency in database and presentation software
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- CSM and/or PMI-ACP certification or PMP
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Banking/Finance/Investments with familiarity of terminology, concepts, and business processes
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
