ABOUT THE POSITION
The Sr Oracle Subject Matter Expert, Q2C & OM is part of the Oracle Quote to Cash (Sales) team at Astec Industries, Inc. Reporting to the Q2C & OM Global Process Owner (GPO), this key position will act as expert across the end‑to‑end commercial lifecycle—from opportunity and quoting through order fulfillment, shipping, invoicing, and revenue recognition. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, IT, and external stakeholders to define, optimize, and govern business processes, ensuring scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.
The Sr Oracle Q2C & OM SME function is to elicit, analyze, specify, validate, and document the stated and implicit needs of the business. He or she will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical project team to define business and system processes through workflows and written requirements to support the migration from legacy systems to Oracle Cloud (and related subsystems). This will include developing current and future state data and process maps and identifying technology gaps and remediation plans with the new systems. The Oracle Q2C & OM SME will be assigned as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and functional leader on this global project team representing these specific functional areas.
Deliverables & Responsibilities

Billing, Invoicing, and Revenue Recognition
· Establishes self as a trusted adviser and thought leader to the business teams.
· Break down technical complexities so that they can be easily understood by business units and project stakeholders.
· Perform cross functional System Integration Testing (SIT)
· Execute and assist business stakeholders with testing of system changes and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities.
· Responsible for training Site System Ambassadors (SSA) and supporting development of SSAs.
· Synthesize high-level concepts surrounding new work requests into a set of business requirements.
· Collaborate with System Integrators, Oracle Consultants, and Astec IT Business Analysts to configure the Oracle Cloud product to support initial implementation and subsequent process optimization efforts.
· Understand functional and technical integration points with other systems that interface with the application, evaluate and minimize impact.
· Provide support to end-users and other subject matter experts, including managing issue resolution and performing root cause analysis as needed.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
· 6+ years of experience required.
· Experience in related function (ex: SME, CRM would have experience in Product Support, Sales, and Marketing)
· Experience with process mapping, group facilitation, data gathering and analysis.
· Prefer experience as a project team member for a full lifecycle tier 1 ERP implementation project
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and preferably SharePoint.
· Experience using cloud-based Oracle CX, CPQ, and OM is preferred.
· Must be highly self-motivated.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
· Must be able to solve problems at both a strategic and tactical level.
· Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills are required.
· Must be able to work well within and across functional teams.
· Strong ability to facilitate and lead meetings and discussions.
· Must have strong presentation skills.
· Ability to solve practical and complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited resources may exist is required.
· Must be able and available to travel for a week at the time to various sites with possible 50% travel.
