Job Summary:

As a Lineman, you will ultimately be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. You will support construction activities, emergency restoration, and system maintenance to deliver reliable network solutions. As a Lineman, your customers are broadband service providers, utility customers, and Congruex project teams, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

    • Repair, maintain, and rebuild aerial and underground telecommunications cable systems, including strand, pole transfers, wire and cable replacements, and system restoration.

    • Read and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and cut sheets to complete assigned construction activities accurately.

    • Perform construction work including digging, pole setting, anchor installation, cable placement, conduit installation, and aerial line construction.

    • Operate construction equipment including hydraulic aerial lifts, compressors, pumps, blowers, hydraulic diggers, and other job-related equipment.

    • Respond to emergency outages, complete production reports and As-Built documentation, and ensure all work complies with company, customer, and governmental safety requirements.

    • Work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining the safety of coworkers, customers, and the general public.

    • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    • Valid driver's license.

    • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

    • DOT Medical Card.

    • OSHA 10 Certification.

Experience

    • Experience performing aerial and underground telecommunications construction.

    • Experience operating construction equipment and performing telecom line work.

    • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work orders, and construction specifications.

Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of telecommunications construction practices, materials, tools, and safety procedures.

    • Ability to identify wire and cable colors and safely perform work at heights and in confined spaces.

    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to construction measurements and material installation.

    • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

    • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • First Aid Certification.

    • Flagger Certification.

    • Competent Person Certification.

    • Silica Training.

    • Confined Space Training.

    • Pole Climbing & Ladder Safety Training.

    • Forklift Certification.

Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Ability to climb poles, ladders, machinery, and other structures; stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

    • Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, and at remote construction locations.

    • Ability to maintain visual and audible awareness of crew members, equipment, vehicles, and surrounding work areas to ensure safe operations.

    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
