Job Summary:
The Assistant Fleet Manager manages the day-to-day workload of shop personnel, manages parts inventory, and shop technician efficiencies. Manages work orders within Fleetio ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of each work order. This individual must possess an extensive mechanical background. Must have a positive attitude and be willing to quickly adapt to an ever-changing work environment in a safe and effective manner. Must possess good leadership skills and have exceptional time management skills.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
· Manage all day-to-day delegation of workload in a way to best support the organizational needs.
· Manage parts inventory and related parts pricing, working diligently to acquire the best parts pricing and ensuring proper availability for in shop technicians.
· Manage technician parts ordering to maximize shop efficiency.
· Manage the Fleetio database entering outsourced invoices, receiving parts requesting purchase for all outsourced work and inputting all repair records accurately and efficiently.
· Performs daily review of previous day's work orders to ensure work order accuracy, parts accuracy, and maximize the efficiency of each technician using industry standard time frames. (Flat Rates)
· Maximize in-house shop technicians for repair using outsourced vendors as minimally as possible.
· Provide over the phone technical support to field crews when needed.
· Work with fleet manager on shop scheduling getting prior authorization for any overtime needs and answering any timecard approval questions.
· Approve technician timecards in the absence of the fleet manager.
· Mentor and coach technicians through challenging repair situations.
· Provide technicians with daily coaching and mentorship to grow their overall skillset.
· Subject matter expert on mechanical and operational aspects of all equipment.
· Coordinate transportation of vehicles and equipment for general repair needs.
· Primary resource for rental process.
· Verify internal availability of requested rental asset prior to setting up rental.
· Coordinate rental with vendor assuring the rental asset information with a rental return date is loaded into Fleetio for tracking.
· Manage rental returns assuring rental status is changed and rental asset is archived in Fleetio.
· Assist with managing Milwaukee tool inventory program.
· Ensure safety is a primary focus in all aspects of day-to-day business situations.
· Work with field personnel to educate and ensure DVIR and Pre-flight inspections are consistently completed.
· Represent Congruex in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism as a company leader.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Knowledge and understanding of all mechanical, shop, and construction facilities.
· Valid Class A CDL (preferred)
· Basic computer skills, knowledge of fleet management platforms, word and Excel.
· 3-5 years of experience in Fleet and has a thorough understanding of construction equipment and operations.
· Ability to operate all equipment safely and productively.
· Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues.
· Ability to effectively communicate with, establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with employees, vendors, equipment representatives, operations managers, the Regional Fleet Director, and all other managers.
· Ability to work long hours, and in challenging working conditions (outdoors, inclement weather - extreme cold or heat, rain, snow, sleet, ice, etc.) as needed.

· Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
· Ability to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
· Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including working at heights, in confined spaces, and on uneven terrain.
· Use of hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and controls.
· Visual and auditory acuity required to operate equipment and ensure safety in field environments.
· May involve long periods of driving between job sites.
Work Environment:
· Work may be performed outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
· Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and potentially hazardous materials and environments.
· May work near moving mechanical parts or in high-traffic areas.
· Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, reflective vests, and steel-toed boots.
· Irregular hours, overtime, and on-call availability may be required based on operational needs.
Required Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
· Valid Class A CDL (preferred).
· OSHA safety certification
