Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Quality Intern to support our non‑conformance (NC) management process using the Quickbase platform. This role is ideal for someone pursuing a career in Quality, Operations, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement. The intern will work closely with cross‑functional teams to investigate issues, implement containment, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and drive long‑term corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Non‑Conformance Review & Processing (Quickbase)
- Navigate and update non‑conformance records within the Quickbase system.
- Ensure all required fields, documentation, and workflow steps are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist in prioritizing NCs based on severity, risk level, and operational impact.
2. Issue Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
- Participate in structured problem‑solving exercises (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to gather evidence and identify root causes.
- Document findings clearly and concisely within the Quickbase system.
3. Containment Activities
- Help coordinate immediate containment actions to protect customers and maintain operational flow.
- Verify effectiveness of containment activities and track completion through Quickbase.
- Communicate status updates to supervisors, leads, and other stakeholders.
4. SOP Development & Documentation
- Assist in drafting or revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and forms.
- Ensure documentation aligns with internal quality standards and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to validate content before approval.
5. Permanent Corrective Action Implementation
- Support teams in developing corrective action plans that address systemic issues.
- Track corrective action progress and completion using Quickbase workflows.
- Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions through follow‑up checks.
6. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work directly with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments.
- Participate in team meetings, investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business Operations, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Solid communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn digital workflows and databases quickly (Quickbase experience is a plus but not required).
- Interest in quality systems, problem solving, and process improvement
