About the Role

The Managing Director, Digital Fundraising is a dynamic senior leader responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of BCRF’s digital and peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising programs. Overseeing a growing team of dedicated fundraisers and strategists, the Managing Director, Digital Fundraising will also be responsible for successfully managing agencies, consultants and vendors.  In addition, the Managing Director, Digital Fundraising will lead operating models that drive reach, engagement, and revenue while maintaining a disciplined focus on ROAS and ROI.

This role owns a multi-channel, integrated fundraising portfolio and budget, designed to substantially increase digital and P2P revenue through paid and owned programs across web, email, advertising, direct mail, and emerging platforms.

This position is based in New York, NY.  BCRF currently requires staff to work onsite a minimum of three days per week.

Primary responsibilities

  • Lead BCRF’s digital and P2P teams and fundraising programs with accountability for substantial year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Own and evolve integrated fundraising strategies across web, email, paid media, social, peer-to-peer, and direct mail in close partnership with internal teams and agency partners.
  • Balance growth and efficiency, driving reach and revenue while maintaining strong ROAS, ROI, and long-term donor value.
  • Serve as the senior strategic lead for BCRF’s integrated fundraising agency partner, ensuring alignment, accountability, and high performance.
  • Stay current on digital fundraising trends, tools, platforms, and tactics, bringing forward new ideas and best practices.
  • Implement best practices for the use of LLMs and AI to improve efficiency, personalization, testing, and performance.
  • Design and execute fully integrated, multi-channel fundraising programs that align digital, paid, direct mail, and P2P strategies into cohesive donor journeys.
  • Partner closely with the Direct Mail team to ensure shared audience strategy, coordinated calendars, and aligned testing and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Content, Communication and Social teams to translate BCRF’s science and impact into compelling, high-performing fundraising creative.
  • Lead audience development and cross-channel segmentation strategies to drive acquisition, retention, reactivation, and lifetime value.
  • Oversee the development and launch of a monthly giving program.
  • Develop and optimize matching gift strategies to increase conversion and average gift size across channels.
  • Oversee paid fundraising programs across advertising platforms, ensuring strong performance, testing rigor, and optimization.
  • Provide strategic oversight of SEO and organic growth strategies in partnership with internal teams and agency partners.
  • Test, evaluate and scale new platforms and tactics, including SMS and emerging digital channels.
  • Own digital fundraising KPIs, dashboards, forecasting, and performance reporting. 
  • Partner with Data and Analytics team to strengthen attribution, modeling, audience insights, and decision-making.
  • Use data to inform strategy, prioritize investment, and continuously improve results.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing, high-performing digital fundraising and operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative, “yes-mentality” culture that encourages innovation, calculated risk-taking, and shared ownership of results.
  • Support the growth, development, and retention of staff through clear goals, coaching, and professional development.
  • Oversee digital fundraising operations, including platforms, tools, and channel teams.
  • Serve as a key contributor to organization-wide systems audits, platform evaluations, and technology roadmaps.
  • Partner with Finance, Development, Data, and Science teams to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and alignment.

 

About You

In addition, you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in digital fundraising, digital marketing, or revenue-generating roles, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles. Experience in a large, complex nonprofit organization is preferred
  • At least five years of experience managing teams
  • Proven success leading and scaling multi-million-dollar digital and peer-to-peer fundraising programs
  • Deep experience with integrated, multi-channel fundraising and agency partnership models
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, paid media, SEO, and analytics tools
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled tools and workflows in a marketing or fundraising context is a plus
  • Strong analytical orientation with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive strategy and results
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally, and work collaboratively
  • Experience leading teams through growth and change with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfort presenting to executive leadership

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time exempt role.  The salary range for this role is $190,000-$210,000.  Our compensation packages include an exceptional benefits package focusing on employee physical, mental and financial wellness.  More specifically we offer:

  • Medical, dental and vision coverage from the first day of employment; with the election of certain medical plans, BCRF helps significantly defray the cost of out-of-pocket expenses with contributions to a health reimbursement account or heath savings account.
  • The opportunity to enroll in pre-tax Commuter Transit, Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account and Dependent Care Account from the first day of employment. 
    • 401K, with up to a 5% match each pay period; employee contributions and any match are immediately fully vested
    • Paid parental leave offering 18 weeks 100% paid leave for a birthing parent and 12 weeks 100% paid leave for non-birthing parent
    • Paid Time Off including
      • 15 days of annual vacation time in first year of employment, increasing with length of service
      • 7 days of annual paid sick time
      • Paid holidays along with BCRF wide half days and summer Fridays
