Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness Consultant
US Army Contract
Remote (Work from Home) – Within the United States
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active or interim Secret Clearance.
@Orchard LLC has an immediate need for a FIP/FIAR Consultant to support the U.S. Army’s Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness initiatives, which are focused on strengthening financial reporting, audit response, remediation, and sustainment efforts across Army organizations and service providers. This role supports targeted mission areas where the Army requires specialized financial expertise, specifically:
- Intragovernmental Transactions (IGT)
- Trading Partner Reconciliations
- Foreign Military Sales
You will join a team of consultants dedicated to improving the accuracy, reliability, and auditability of Army financial data while supporting mission-critical operations.
Your responsibilities as a FIP/FIAR Consultant.
- Support financial reporting, audit response, and remediation activities.
- Perform reconciliations, data validation, and financial analysis across assigned functional areas.
- Assist DASA DEC and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) financial operations.
- IGT and Trading Partner reconciliation.
- Analyze large financial datasets and leverage data tools to improve accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders to ensure deliverables align with Army priorities and audit requirements
Your background will include.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Federal financial management (Army experience strongly preferred).
- Prior client-facing consulting experience is required.
- Experience supporting at least one of the following areas:
- IGT and Trading Partner reconciliations.
- DASA DEC and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) financial operations.
- Experience with GFEBS, CEFMS, GARMY, IPAC, DCAS, and/or G-invoicing.
- General Ledger account reconciliations for the Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay business process.
- Hands-on experience in ADVANA.
- SQL experience.
- Experience working with general ledgers, financial statements, reconciliations, audit artifacts, or financial systems.
- A DoD/DoW Secret clearance is required. Interim Secret is permissible.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or qualifying experience instead of degree, as applicable) OR one of the following active and current certifications issued by appropriate licensing authority: CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, ITIL.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities.
- Experience supporting Army Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives.
- Proficiency with data tools such as Python, Databricks, Power Platform, or similar technologies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
Compensation: These roles are perfect for mid-career or career changers looking to leverage their current skills and to build a strong foundation for future progression. Base salary is based on qualifications and experience and is expected to be in the range of $60K - $72.5k.
