Employment Status: Salary (Exempt) Range: $149,800.00 - $187,250.00 based on location and experience.

 Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Business Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and strategic execution across regional business and infrastructure programs. This position serves as a critical business partner to field and executive leadership, aligning operational initiatives with organizational goals while ensuring efficient, compliant, and profitable execution.

This role oversees business operations for major telecom infrastructure programs and broader regional or functional operations, with responsibility for resource allocation, process optimization, financial planning, performance management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Director combines strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership to improve margins, strengthen execution, and support sustainable growth.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Partner with executive and field leadership to develop and execute operational strategies that support growth, profitability, and long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of programs, regions, or business units, ensuring projects and initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer and company expectations.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, benchmarks, and reporting cadences to evaluate operational performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; monitor variances; and recommend corrective actions, cost-saving measures, or strategic investments.
  • Drive margin improvement through a detailed understanding of customer contracts, field execution, labor, materials, and vendor performance.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration among operations, finance, legal, procurement, construction, engineering, people services, IT, sales, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
  • Oversee strategic programs and enterprise-level initiatives, including system implementations, operational transformations, and process redesign efforts.
  • Manage relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal business partners to resolve issues, negotiate favorable outcomes, and maintain service quality.
  • Lead change management efforts tied to operational improvements, organizational transformation, or systems implementation, ensuring effective communication and smooth adoption across teams.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and controls that reinforce accountability, consistency, and operational integrity.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead business operations at a senior level in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to connect operational priorities to enterprise goals.
  • Deep expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, margin improvement, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success improving operational efficiency, standardizing processes, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project and program management principles, with the ability to oversee large, complex initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Experience with performance metrics, KPI development, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with project management systems, ERP/business systems, and business intelligence or reporting tools.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across field teams, corporate functions, customers, and external partners
  • Knowledge of regulatory, safety, compliance, and governance requirements relevant to telecom, construction, or infrastructure operations preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in business operations, program management, or large-scale project execution within the telecom or construction industry
  • Prior experience overseeing large-scale programs, regional operations, or multi-functional business operations preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid work environment with a combination of office-based tasks and on-site project visits.
  • Ability to travel to project sites, vendor meetings, and corporate offices as needed.
  • May require occasional lifting of materials, walking across construction sites, and exposure to outdoor environments.
  • Availability to work extended hours as necessary to meet project deadlines and resolve operational issues.
