About Full Throttle Marine

Full Throttle Marine is a premium mobile marine service company serving high-net-worth recreational boat owners across the Tampa Bay corridor. We come to the boat — by land or water — delivering scheduled outboard maintenance, mechanical repair, winterization, commissioning, and detailing directly to the dock. No shop. No waiting rooms. No surprises.

We're building something different: a professional, branded service operation that treats both customers and technicians better than the industry standard. If you're certified, skilled, and tired of the same four walls, this is your lane.

---
The Role

We're looking for a Contract Marine Technician to join our Tampa Bay team. You'll operate as an independent field technician, executing service calls across Palmetto, Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa, St. Petersburg, and surrounding waterfront communities. Work is scheduled, documented, and professionally managed — you focus on the boat, we handle the customer flow.

This is a contract (1099) position with flexible scheduling and compensation structured per job completed.

---
What You'll Do

- Perform scheduled outboard service at the 50, 100, and 200-hour manufacturer intervals (Yamaha and/or Mercury)
- Execute winterization and spring commissioning procedures at customer vessels
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in the field
- Support premium detailing services as needed
- Complete photo documentation and digital service reports after every job
- Represent the Full Throttle Marine brand with professionalism — uniformed, on time, and
  prepared
- Communicate clearly with the operations team on parts needs, scheduling, and job status

---

- ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) — Marine Technician certification
- Yamaha Marine — Certified Technician (YCT) or equivalent dealer training
- Mercury Marine — Certified Technician or equivalent factory training
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience servicing outboard engines
- Strong working knowledge of Yamaha and/or Mercury outboard systems
- Reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment to job sites
- Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple daily service calls
- Professional appearance and strong customer-facing communication skills
- Valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record
- Must carry or be willing to obtain appropriate liability coverage

---
Preferred

- Experience with 2-stroke and 4-stroke outboard platforms
- Familiarity with marine electrical systems, fuel delivery, and trim/tilt systems
- Experience working from a service skiff or dockside (water-side access preferred for some locations)
- Prior mobile service or field service experience

---
What We Offer

- Competitive per-job compensation — above market rate for certified technicians
- Flexible scheduling — you control your availability
- Consistent work volume in one of Florida's highest-density boating markets
- Professional brand backing — customers are pre-vetted, appointments are pre-set
