Become a Key Player as a Welder
You will join the manufacturing team performing manual, automatic, and semi-automatic welds on high-temperature and high-strength metal alloys that support critical product systems. Your work ensures component integrity and readiness for downstream assembly and testing; you will interact with production technicians, quality inspectors, and engineering. This is an onsite role on 2nd shift (3:00 PM–1:30 AM, Mon–Thu) with occasional training on 1st shift as needed.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Perform manual/automatic TIG and other welding processes, tacking, and weld repair at 1G (flat) on plates or pipes
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot welding equipment (manual TIG, JetLine, AMI, robotic, EBW, laser welding, etc.)
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to meet specifications
- Clean, cut, bend, clamp, and tack components into position prior to welding
- Monitor weld quality during and after welding using visual inspection and support nondestructive testing (FPI, X-Ray) processes
- Perform heat straightening and minor repairs on welding machinery and fixtures
- Follow established procedures and safety practices, and wear appropriate PPE
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated TIG welding skill verified by passing AWS D17.1 1G weld test (requirements include 0.063" SS321 and 0.063" Hast-X butt joints at 1G position; welds must pass visual inspection, FPI, and X-Ray testing)
- Ability to pass weld defects visual inspection test
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, procedures, drawings, and blueprints
- High level of manual dexterity, reliable judgment, and willingness to learn
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations
- Basic computer operation skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
- Experience with semi-automatic or orbital welders
- Willingness to provide weld pictures or work samples for assessment
- Flexibility to train on 1st shift for several weeks if required
- Prior experience performing continuous GTAW welds over longer spans
