Become a Key Player as a Machinist 1
You will join the production team to operate and set up machining equipment to produce quality parts that support the organization's gas turbine fuel systems operations. You will work on the 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–11:00 pm) in an onsite manufacturing environment, collaborating with technicians and quality personnel to meet production and safety goals.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Perform repetitive machine operations: cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming, and smoothing parts
- Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts and make minor adjustments as needed
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods
- Perform operations such as reaming, tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, cracks, or other irregularities from machined parts
- Inspect parts for conformance using visual examination, gages, and other measuring instruments
- Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements
- Observe safety rules, maintain a neat work area, and report improper machine functioning
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform the listed responsibilities
- Ability to read and understand work instructions or blueprints
- Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
- Manual dexterity and proficiency with inspection/measuring tools
- Effective English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
Pay Range
$19.00 - $24.00/hour
