Become a Key Player as a Machinist 1
You will help the team produce precision machined components that support aerospace and industrial fuel systems, ensuring parts meet strict quality and safety standards. You will work onsite on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm) with direct guidance from experienced technicians and engineers, contributing to production, inspection, and continuous improvement efforts.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Operate production machining equipment (manual lathes and mills) following blueprints, sketches, and route sheets
- Perform repetitive machine operations: cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring
- Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts and make minor adjustments
- Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, cracks, and other irregularities from machined parts
- Inspect parts visually and with gages/measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications
- Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements accurately and regularly
- Observe safety rules and maintain a neat, orderly work area
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities
- Hands-on experience with manual lathes and mills
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and blueprints
- Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
- Manual dexterity and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a participative team player
Pay Range
$19.00 - $24.00/hour
