Job Summary:

The People Services Business Partner plays a crucial role in supporting human resources functions. This position is responsible for administering a wide range of HR programs, such as disciplinary matters, performance management, and employee engagement. The People Services Business Partner also works closely with managers to enhance leadership skills, drive employee retention, and maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations. The role serves as a resource for managers, offering guidance on best practices in workforce management and ensuring a positive and productive work environment for all employees.

 

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Administer and execute various human resource programs, including employee benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Resolve employee disputes, conduct investigations, and ensure adherence to company policies and practices.
  • Monitor and improve employee productivity, morale, and engagement.
  • Design, deliver, and track training programs to enhance leadership skills, employee engagement, and policy adherence.
  • Offer leadership development programs and training on anti-harassment, compliance, and human resource-related topics.
  • Leverage engagement surveys and turnover metrics to develop strategies that improve employee retention and engagement.
  • Collaborate with managers to proactively address turnover risks and create data-driven solutions to retain talent.
  • Partner with Shared Services teams to support recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process, ensuring new hires are engaged and integrated effectively.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Act as a resource for managers on people-related best practices and workforce management strategies.
  • Assist managers in addressing attendance concerns, implementing corrective action plans, and managing attendance records in compliance with company policies.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure that corrective actions are fair, consistent, and comply with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, maintaining awareness of changes to ensure policies remain up to date.
  • Review and update company policies to ensure continued legal compliance and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of employee relations, retention strategies, and HR best practices.
  • Background in supporting nonexempt level employees, preferably in the telecom or construction industries.
  • Ability to quickly learn and proficiently use the company’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Experience with interpreting and using HR metrics to guide decision-making.
  • Proficient in supporting recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of human resources generalist experience, preferably in the telecom or construction industry.
  • SHRM-CP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboarding and office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 20 lbs).
  • Visual acuity for reviewing digital and printed documents.
