Job Summary

As the Underground Foreman Construction, you will ultimately be responsible for leading underground construction crews, coordinating field operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. You will manage daily construction activities and deliver efficient underground utility installations. Your customers are Congruex project teams, utility clients, and subcontractors, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through leadership, operational excellence, and safety.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

  • Lead and supervise crews of up to 10 employees performing underground telecommunications construction.
  • Coordinate daily field activities including conduit installation, trenching, cable placement, restoration, and equipment operation.
  • Interpret construction drawings, assign work, monitor production, and ensure project quality and schedule requirements are met.
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards while maintaining compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and jobsite resources while ensuring equipment inspections and site housekeeping are completed.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to field personnel while communicating project updates with supervisors and project teams.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in underground telecommunications, utility, or related construction.
  • Experience leading construction crews and underground utility installation projects.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret telecommunications construction drawings and direct field crews.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe operation of underground construction equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital construction documentation.
  • Ability to travel, work overtime, and work weekends as project needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
  • First Aid certification.
  • CDL Class A license.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
  • Ability to safely operate and work around heavy construction equipment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
