ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineer Manager establishes and directs a technical engineering team to define, develop, and design new product lines from concept to full production as well as expand existing product lines for the forestry and recycling markets ensuring customer technical and cost requirement satisfaction. This role will develop cost effective and product improvement strategies for existing products and provide leadership and mentoring to the Engineering Department and site staff.
Deliverables & Responsibilities
· Plans, Directs, and coordinates the activities of the maintenance, tooling and manufacturing engineering departments, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.
· Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes: make and implements recommendations to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
· Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions: coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
· Prepares and implements factory master plan and capital investments to meet future market demand.
· Introduce progressive automation and new technology to improve processes, product quality and increase efficiency.
· Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
· Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
· Develop and manage the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
· Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering
· 5+ years of progressive leadership role om an Engineering related fields
· Proficient in the use of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD to generate 3D solid model designs from concept to fabrication.
· Familiarity with industry policies and procedures to ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
· Must possess in-depth understanding in one or more engineering and design criteria.
· Thorough working knowledge of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.

Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection.
