Position Requirements:

Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for an Aftermarket Material Handler - Recycling who is responsible for receiving and processing incoming merchandise and performs material handline and bailing functions.

Essential Duties:. 

  • Operates bailer, forklift, and compactor, notifying Manger of any equipment issues.
  • Maintains 5S Standards - keeping like commodities in the same area.
  • Receives all incoming merchandise and distributes to the proper location.
  • Performs daily vehicle/forklift inspections along with watering the forklifts and document on required forms. Informs Manager of any problems. 
  • Assures warehouse, dock(s) and pavement behind warehouse are kept in an orderly, clean, and safe fashion. 
  • Behaves as a role model in terms of personal appearance, behavior, quality of work and respect to others.
  • Understand and able to operate the Salvage Module system by maintaining accurate records of loads.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures. 
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Previous material handling experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds and lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally. 
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, twisting, pushing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, reaching forward.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment indoors 75%
  • Outdoors 25%
  • Potential exposure to high & low temperatures, dust, dirt, and other irritants possible.
