At Movement Schools, we believe that all means all — and our Exceptional Children's (EC) Paraprofessionals are essential to making that belief real every single day. Movement Schools Georgia is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and scholar-centered EC Paraprofessional to support scholars receiving special education services under IDEA.
This role works under the direct supervision of a GaPSC-certified EC teacher and in full compliance with Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), GaPSC, ESSA, and IDEA requirements. This is an immediate hire.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the direct supervision of the certified EC teacher, you will:
Instructional & Behavioral Support

Work one-on-one and in small groups with EC scholars to implement IEP accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies

Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and ABA-based strategies as directed by the EC teacher or BCBA

Use evidence-based techniques including positive reinforcement, DTT, NET, and de-escalation to support scholar skill development

Collect and record behavioral and academic data accurately and consistently

Support scholars in developing communication, self-regulation, adaptive, and social skills
Daily Living & Compliance

Assist scholars with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, and physical support needs as outlined in individual IEPs

Support scholars during meals, transitions, and throughout the school day with dignity and care
-
Maintain strict confidentiality of all scholar records in compliance with FERPA and IDEA

Complete required data collection and compliance documentation accurately and on time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Georgia State Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age
-
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
-
Must meet ONE of the following to qualify for a GaPSC Paraprofessional License (required per GaPSC Rule 505-2-.18):

— Associate's degree or higher from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution; OR
-
— 60 semester hours of college coursework (grade of 'C' or higher) from a GaPSC-accepted institution; OR
-
— Passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment (ETS; reading, writing, and mathematics)

Must obtain and maintain a valid GaPSC Paraprofessional License and Clearance Certificate — GBI and FBI fingerprint clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification — candidates with active RBT certification will be prioritized

Prior ABA experience in a school, clinic, or home-based therapy setting

Experience working with scholars with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and significant behavioral needs
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field

Pay Rate: Competitive commensurate with experience, qualifications, and RBT certification status

Schedule: Follows the academic calendar; school day hours Monday through Friday
