The Opportunity

OSRUI is seeking a Camp Director to lead a beloved Jewish institution into its next chapter of strength, growth, and impact. This is an opportunity to honor what makes OSRUI special while shaping its future, ensuring that generations to come experience the joy, belonging, and Jewish connection that have defined the OSRUI community for decades.

The Camp Director will lead a complex, year-round organization encompassing summer camp, retreat and conference operations, a large seasonal workforce, extensive facilities, and a deeply engaged community. Priorities include building and strengthening the team and organizational capacity needed for OSRUI’s next chapter, rebuilding summer enrollment, evolving the camp’s program model, growing the year-round business, and deepening the stakeholder relationships and philanthropic support that will sustain OSRUI’s future. As a leader across URJ, the Camp Director will draw on and contribute to the collective expertise, learning, and resources of the broader system.

The Leader We’re Looking For
You are a people-centered, strategic, and operationally strong leader who can honor what makes OSRUI special while strengthening the organization for its next chapter. You bring the judgment and courage to address complex challenges, the relationship skills to engage a deeply invested community, and the business discipline to lead a significant year-round operation.

About OSRUI
URJ Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI) is a vibrant, year-round Jewish community located in Oconomowoc, WI and rooted in a long history of excellence, meaningful traditions, and the belief that each of us is created B’tzelem Elohim, in God’s image.

Each summer, more than 1,000 campers and staff come together to experience the joy and magic of Jewish camping. Through innovative Jewish experiences, creative spiritual life, outstanding programs, and a caring community, campers build confidence, deepen their Jewish identity, and develop a lasting sense of belonging.
Beyond the summer, OSRUI operates a robust year-round retreat and conference business, welcoming congregations, organizations, families, and other groups to gather, learn, celebrate, and build community. This year-round work extends OSRUI’s impact, deepens relationships with the communities we serve, and is an important part of the camp’s business and operating model.

OSRUI’s community extends well beyond its physical campus. Staff work alongside rabbis, cantors, educators, congregations, families, alumni, donors, lay leaders, and community partners to create a place where people feel safe, supported, included, and able to thrive.

OSRUI is a proud member of the Union for Reform Judaism and part of a broader movement committed to building a strong and vibrant Jewish future.
