Role Overview
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, and materials. This position ensures the effective scheduling of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities while supporting overall equipment reliability and plant uptime goals.
This role reports to Nexus Circular’s Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain preventive maintenance plans for all critical equipment.
· Review work requests and create job plans including labor, materials, tools, and estimated completion times.
· Schedule daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance activities in coordination with operations and maintenance teams.
· Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
· Maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) data, ensuring accurate records of work orders, equipment history, and inventory.
· Monitor backlog and update priorities as necessary based on asset criticality and operational needs.
· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule compliance, PM completion rates, and equipment uptime.
· Support reliability improvement initiatives by analyzing maintenance trends and identifying root causes of equipment failures.
· Communicate regularly with maintenance technicians, engineers, and operations to align priorities and expectations.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED.
· 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling or industrial maintenance.
Additional & Preferred Skills:
· Strong knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
· Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, eMaint, or similar); prefer Certification in Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (e.g., SMRP, CMRP).
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
