For more than 60 years, North Texans have turned to KERA as a destination for trusted, non-partisan news, educational programming and initiatives, arts journalism, community engagement and lifelong learning.

As we seek to recognize and reflect the increasing diversity among our audiences, we encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and with diverse perspectives to consider employment opportunities at KERA.

POSITION SUMMARY:
KERA is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Vice President (SVP), Audience and Content to lead our Audience Development team. This role is pivotal in centering the organization around audiences – meeting our current audience where they are and introducing creative ways to invite new audiences to engage with and support us. Additionally, this role supports efforts across all departments at KERA to grow, know and monetize our users and platforms.

This is an executive-level position that serves on KERA’s Senior Management Team and supervises approximately 30 people across a portfolio of teams that function collaboratively on fundraising, digital products, content projects, marketing campaigns, engagement initiatives, design, live events, podcasting, video production, email and more.

This position is classified as FLSA exempt, is not eligible for overtime and reports directly KERA’s President and CEO.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Lead and manage the Audience Development team, which includes Integrated Marketing, Events and Engagement, Digital Product, Email, Creative Services, and Video.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance audience engagement and expand our reach across KERA's platforms, including KERA News, KXT 91.7, WRR 101.1 FM Classical, KERA Arts, KERA Kids, and the Denton Record-Chronicle.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and sponsorship teams to raise funds for KERA’s operations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful implementation of audience development campaigns, live events, new product development, digital platforms and design services.
  • Set blueprints for campaign messaging across channels using owned, earned and paid media strategies to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Use data to define and test strategies to reach target audiences with specific messages and desired actions along their user journeys. Oversee the technical operations for digital assets, including web hosting, firewall, and streaming, and provide frontline coordination and support for custom dashboards, tools, and imports.
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing and original video content across various platforms, ensuring high-quality storytelling that aligns with KERA's mission and brand identity.
  • Drive new audiences to engaging storytelling and deepen our connection with communities through compelling content, on-air, online and in person.
  • Oversee strategic partnerships and manage relationships with various organizations, companies and stakeholders across the North Texas region.
  • Serve on KERA’s Senior Management team.
