POSITION SUMMARY:
KERA seeks an experienced and passionate senior graphic designer with a keen eye for visual storytelling. You are equally comfortable upholding and evolving established brand standards across a diverse family of platforms, including KERA, KERA News, KXT, WRR, KERA Kids and KERA Arts.
Your creative energy fuels engaging visuals that capture the essence of each brand while maintaining a cohesive, recognizable identity. You will work collaboratively on a variety of projects for very different target audiences, ranging anywhere from preschool-aged children to mature adults.
This is an FLSA classified exempt position and reports directly to the Creative Director.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead and oversee all graphic design projects from start to completion, including conception, drafting, designing, and final delivery of products.
- Design captivating marketing materials, social media graphics, print publications, and digital assets for all KERA brands.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand project goals and target audiences.
- Interpret brand guidelines and translate them into fresh, innovative designs that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Design for unique events like music festivals and galas, showcasing your adaptability and range.

- 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing work for multiple platforms.
- Expertise in Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Must be an innovative, creative and accountable problem solver, and a self-starter.
- A love for public media and the ability to translate its values into visuals.
- Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to maintain brand consistency while remaining innovative.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
BONUS IF YOU BRING:
- Experience working with NPR and PBS affiliates.
- Familiarity with the North Texas media landscape.
- Proficiency in motion graphics or video editing software.
- Passion for news, music and event design.
SALARY RANGE
$58,000-$68,000, depending on experience

LOCATION:We expect that this position will work out of our downtown Dallas office at least 50% of the time.
