Role Overview
Nexus Circular is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join the team. This role reports to Nexus Circular’s IT Manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software applications
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, printers, and other peripheral devices
- Assist in the management and maintenance of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance and perform regular network maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patch management
- Respond to user support requests in a timely manner and document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the helpdesk system
- Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures
- Conduct regular inventory checks and manage the inventory of hardware and software assets
- Provide support for remote access solutions, including VPN, and ensure secure access for remote users
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Participate in IT projects, such as network upgrades, hardware rollouts, and software deployments
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve the IT environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of experience in desktop support, network support, or a similar IT role
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other common desktop applications
- Experience with networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Active Directory, group policy management, and user account administration
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with users of varying technical expertise
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently or as part of a team
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus
