    Certified Tumor Registrar, Part Time, Monday – Friday, 10 am- 230pm, no weekends Pay Range: $23.41-$37.46

    Purpose of Job

    This job aims to have a HUH-employed CTR to perform all cancer registry data abstracts, follow-ups, and cancer quality data reporting, cover tumor board conferences, and perform case findings from various EMR sources to support our cancer program’s initiatives.


    Job Responsibilities
     
    • Perform Cancer case abstracting of all sites, coding of information on demographics, diagnostic history, diagnosis (site and Histology), diagnostic procedures, stage of disease, and treatment.
    • Cancer case findings from Disease index, medical oncology list, Pathology list, and other sources
    • Lost to follow-up of cancer cases.
    • Treatment follow-up to complete (all incomplete abstracts)
    • Cover for tumor board conferences/ documentation required under the direction of the cancer registry manager.
    • Participate in team meetings, peer review meetings, and others as required.
    • Run Reports within Metriq for Data requests as needed.
    • Cancer data quality measures reporting to the cancer registry manager.
    • Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.  The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered all-inclusive.

    Required Qualifications: Competencies
     
    • Required cancer data abstract and coding of all cancer sites following FORDS, ICD-O-#, data teams required by CoC, SEER, AJCC TNMM, and collaborative staging standardized data set guideline including DCCR Guidelines.
    • Required ability to work with all Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Required experience working with Metriq cancer Database, knowledge of NCDB data reporting, CoC standards, NAPBC standards,
    •  It requires a good understanding of tumor registry theory, medical terminology, medical coding, ICD-03, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage time well to meet assignment deadlines.
    • Required ability to professionally communicate with the team and other cancer program members, including providers. Required to have great email etiquette knowledge
    • Prefer experience working with Allscripts, Soarian Clinical, Mosaiq, Power Path,
    • Prefer experience working with state reporting and CoC-accredited cancer programs.
    • Prefer Filezilla application experience, Webplus, genEdits

    Required Qualifications: Education and Experience




     
    Education Minimum formal education required, including degree level (e.g., Bachelor’s) and type/field (e.g., business, health care, etc.) Minimum of associate of science degree in healthcare informatics but prefer a bachelor of science degree in healthcare informatics or healthcare management.
    Experience Minimum years of experience required, and what type of experience qualifies Minimum of 3 years or more working with a state-reporting cancer program, a CoC-accredited cancer program, or a state cancer registry
    Supervisory/Management Experience Minimum years of supervisory/management experience required Need to have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
    Certification and/or Licensure Any required certifications or licensures required Required Oncology Data Specialist from NCRA

    Required Skills
