POSITION SUMMARY:
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is searching for a Director of Stores who will be responsible for the overall direction and management of all retail store operations and attended donation centers.  Ensures all retail store operations achieve mission integration, customer service, store image, merchandise presentation, processing, loss control and prevention. Ensures staffing, training, and motivation of retail employees. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Hire, manage, motivate, coach, develop, and empower a team to maximize their skills and results through daily operational excellence.
  • Creates a strong focus on customer service, training, and production throughout assigned areas.
  • Work in collaboration with Human Resources to provide fair administration of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and support the development of retail management and other team members to ensure bench strength in all areas of Retail store operations for future growth.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and review with store management.  Ensure store management is generating revenue and controlling budgeted expenses.
  • Audit assigned locations in production, cash handling, quality assurance, and maintenance.
  • Maintains a strong presence within the retail stores.  Demonstrates a lead by example approach to reinforcing all aspects of the Donated Goods Standard Operation Manual to all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available to work during operating hours as needed for business operations. Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and blackout periods which may vary from week to week.
 Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and or at a minimum five years of progressive multi-unit retail operations management experience. Experience in Thrift Retail is preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills, planning abilities, team building, training, and results oriented leader with a track record of proven results.
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License (driving record must be acceptable to RGI’s insurance carrier).
  • Highly energetic, data-driven, and strong written and verbal communicator with a strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and commitment to people.
  • Demonstrates the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, and develop workforce to reach set goals.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, cloud-based computing, and online data-tracking systems.
  • Proven ability to create a strong and collaborative environment, foster peer relationships, and expand capabilities across all locations.
Physical Demands:   
  • Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. Ability to climb, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, carry, push, pull, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Office and retail environment with 100% travel between stores and Attended Donation Centers (including use of personal car) and variable work schedule.
