SUMMARY: As an Information Technology (IT) WIFI Network Specialist, the individual will be expected to provide subject matter expertise in the assessment, specification, design and implementation of IT network infrastructure and WIFI network devices. The role requires a client-focused professional committed to success by embracing and living our core values of Persistence, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Prudence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform highly technical IT/IP network software and hardware configurations.
  • Engineer new configurations prior to implementation, and interact with client engineering and support teams during project cutover to ensure adherence to national and international standards such as ITIL, NENA, ISO and NIST
  • Collaborate with clients on implementation and operations personnel.
  • Perform onsite technical assessments of existing systems and organizations with an emphasis on data-gathering and potential system improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies
  • Implement traditional and non-traditional IT/IP network management, support and delivery services
  • Prepare technical and non-technical reports; present findings and options to clients
  • Assure quality of network design, management, and support deliverables for client satisfaction
  • Share and train any technical knowledge and expertise with peers – exhibit a positive attitude, exchanging ideas, concepts, and processes that create a strong team approach to problem-solving and client solutions
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Participate in after hours on call as needed for critical issues
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10 years’ documented experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex large-scale enterprise IT/IP networks
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Technical certification(s) in various networking technologies is desired
  • Expert knowledge of routers and layer 2/3 Switches, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, Spanning Tree, MPLS, QOS and TCP/IP routing including EIGRP, OSPF, BG
  • Extensive experience with Native IOS and current routing/switching hardware platforms, network monitors, and protocol analyzers
  • Complete understanding of Ethernet, LAN and WAN topologies, interior and exterior routing and switching protocols, DNS, WINS, WiFi, WAP, hubs, SNMP, DHCP, proxy functions (forward and reverse), security protocols (IPSec, SSL, etc.), time protocols (e.g. NTP), tag and label switching
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities, technically savvy, and strategic thinker
  • Ability to assess client situations, identify needs and develop recommendations and solutions
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present concepts and recommendations to non-technical client personnel
  • Skilled in report generation, preparation and delivery of oral/written presentations
  • Skilled in the assessment, specification, design and implementation of enterprise networks including telephony, broadband, voice/data and mission critical IP transport
  • Practical experience in the application of technical standards to real-world features and functions
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive your own vehicle to our client sites and regional offices
  • Preferred Experience: Experience supporting Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software from Tyler Technologies and Central Square Technologies
