Your New Job
The Position

As Congruex’s Claims Management Manager, you will play an integral role on our Risk Management team. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director Legal Services, this is a high visibility, high impact role, offering an exciting opportunity to help build and execute the strategy for handling claims and compliance across our Company in these areas.
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end claims operations, including processing, adjudication, and resolution across all Congruex markets.  This position is responsible for promoting a culture of accountability, compliance, professionalism, integrity, and excellent customer service.


You should enjoy regular collaboration with colleagues and third parties, approach claims issues practically, with a problem-solving and business-oriented mindset, and seek to build and foster partnerships across all Congruex markets to maximize efficiency.  The Claims Management Manager will work closely with, and provide guidance to, risk management, safety, and people services, as well as operations and the business more broadly.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Review and timely respond to reported claim files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate reported claims both internally and externally to determine liability and damages.
  • Report claims, monitor claim status, and follow up on unresolved claims.
  • Negotiate settlements within a prescribed range with claimants
  • Provide feedback and support to internal and external parties.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of procedures for claims handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of all claims.
  • Monitor and report on trends in claims.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve claims in accordance with Congruex standards.
 
  • Provide guidance to claims submitters regarding claim procedures and policies.
  • Maintain claims-submission details to ensure quick and accurate processing.
  • Handle incoming claim inquiries and escalated claims.
  • Track claim progress and monitor status of denied claims and appeals.
  • Maintain accurate databases for claims submissions and tracking, providing timely reports to management.
  • Maintain claims records, including claim history, related correspondence, and claim documents.
  • Perform other related tasks.
  • Assist the safety team and the organization related to compliance requirements to promote and support our safety culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of risk and claims management experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with workers compensation, general liability and automobile insurance policies and claims.
  • Must possess strong critical, conflict resolution, and time management skills. Ability to dive deep into a topic, while simultaneously able to see the big picture, and adjust approach to issues based on topic and audience.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of working with insurance carriers/brokers, including with third-party insurance/brokers.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and operate in a high-volume fast-moving environment.
  • Strong ability to work independently and use good judgment to act decisively.
  • Experience in handling or overseeing damage claims, including ability to research claims and provide insight to processing a claim or issuing a denial of liability.  
  • Ability to spot and analyze issues and devise strategies and solutions.
  • Knowledge of digital infrastructure design and construction, ISPs, and telecommunications a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, BI, PowerPoint, etc).  
  • Risk Management systems experience is a plus.
