Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated person comfortable with science and skilled at product management to join Axion’s Commercial Team. Specifically, you will be a member of the Product Management Team within the broader Marketing Team.

As Product Manager for Impedance Assay Systems, you will guide product development and commercialization of Axion’s impedance assay systems. This extends from increasing the applicability of the existing systems and consumables, to developing new products or applications for the company. You will help build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your experience and contact with customers. You must enjoy spending time with customers to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with engineering counterparts to define the product’s technical requirements. You will work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, collaborating to define product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers. A product manager’s key role is strategic, but you will be tasked with supporting tactical execution to ensure successful market penetration and alignment with our defined strategy. Applicants should be comfortable taking on additional roles within a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the impedance product life cycles
  • Review feedback from the field and customer demonstrations to help inform what features customers like and dislike about Axion’s impedance platforms
  • Identify and prioritize the development of new features that will broaden the application of Axion impedance technology and establish it as the premium impedance platform
  • Define the scope and details of new features for product development teams
  • Maintain product collateral for impedance product line
  • Visit customers and conferences to discover unmet scientific needs and scout for new applications and technologies relevant to Axion’s portfolio
  • Speak at conferences promoting Axion’s technology
  • Make formal presentations and conduct group discussions on products for a broad range of scientific, technical, and business customer audiences
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to assist product go-to-market plans
  • Train the Axion Sales Team and Distributors on new Axion products and product features/applications
  • Support the Sales Team by serving as “product expert” for Axion’s impedance products
  • Write white papers, application notes, leaflets, slides, and video material etc. on new products and applications as well as customer success stories with Axion’s MEA products
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for these products, and define objectives, benefits, and costs of such collaborations
  • Cultivate Maestro “power-users” to help promote Axion’s technology
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and technologies
  • Identify and analyze the possible impact of competitive/3rd party products and make recommendations for company responses in terms of messaging and/or feature development as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • BS, MS, or PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering or a related science
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams without formal authority through influence and relationships
  • Ability to take complex technical concepts and translate the data into easy to understand and digestible information for global marketing and sales organizations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressures and within deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time globally
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • U.S Citizenship or permanent residency required (position not eligible for visa sponsorship)
