Howard University Hospital seeks to hire a Part Time Clinical Registered Nurse in the Cancer Infusion Center who will embrace our reach and historic tradition of excellence. This Part time position requires 24 hours per week, three 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 8 am- 4:30 pm.
The Registered Nurse:- Interacts with staff, physicians, patients and their families, other healthcare providers, Hospital and University officials, and the general public.
- Provides direct patient care as prescribed by the provider or delegation from the Nursing Leaders.
- Observes patient’s response and wound status, reporting any changes to the primary registered nurse or supervising physician, according to facility or agency guidelines.
- Participates and reinforces education to patients, family members/caregivers, and facility/agency staff that is consistent with the established care plan for preventative measures, interventions, and individualized patient treatments
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Associates in Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Current licensure as an RN in the District of Columbia.
- Chemotherapy and Biotherapies Nurse Certification.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- At least 2 years of experience with the administration of chemotherapies and biotherapies
